First run with the Garmin
I tried out my new Garmin Forerunner today. I am really excited to utilize all of it’s features, which I was trying to figure out on the car ride home (Todd was driving). I guess I could have put an alert in it for today to let us know when our pace was above or below what we were targeting. (E-Speed wanted to do the first 10 around an 8:45 pace). I ended up with ~ 8:30 pace for the 12 mile loop. It felt pretty good, the sun was out and it wasn’t too windy.
We hung out at the bagel shop for a while and then headed back to Akron. Todd is making me smoked turkey for dinner on his smoker, along with his amazing homemade stuffing and mashed potatoes! Yum! I’m going to make bread - and we’re both going to drink - you’ll never guess - MARGARITA’S! I know it totally doesn’t go together, but on Friday night we went to get Mexican food and we both wanted a margarita - but we couldn’t get one because they were renewing their liquor license or something…
I guess this Tuesday I’m going to try to go to the Solon track rather than do my track workout at lunch. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
Ok - off to start the bread!

Thanks for running with me today Freak. Sounds like the Garmin will be a fun new running toy for you!
Whens Todd going to have us over for some smoked salmon?

You’re gonna love the Garmin. Here one suggestion that I have found helpful. If you turn on the auto-lap by distance feature and set the distance to one mile (Training>Training Options>Auto-Lap), the totals will show your mile by mile pace in the Garmin Training Center.
I had a great dinner today too. Home-made lasagna and Boston Cream Pie. Oh, and a beer. Margarita’s scare me. They taste too good and make it far too easy to drink too much. Wait, I think that was the whole idea.

What time do you run at solon track workouts? It’s definitely closer to my house then western reserve track workouts. Just make sure you turn off the annoying beeps on the garmin. Elizabeth said she’ll kick your butt if she hears more then 1 beep per mile.
