Ireland is so cool!

Tidal Turbine installed in Strangford Laugh (N. Ireland)
Check this out - Northern Ireland is home to the first ever mega-watt scale tidal turbine. Maybe this can be my excuse to go on vacation to Ireland again. It is one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been - green everywhere; clean air; fluffy sheep EVERYWHERE. What more could you ask for?

“green everywhere; clean air; fluffy sheep EVERYWHERE. What more could you ask for?” Ummmm…beer. Oh yea, they have great beer too. The Dublin Marathon is on October 27th. I’d love to run it.

Cool. What about tidal/offshore wind combination turbines? You know if anyone has done this? Seems logical…to someone who is not an engineer.

Huh - now there’s a nifty idea! I’ll have to look into that - not sure why it wouldn’t work…

Tidal turbines are actually being considered in the tidal rivers of NYC.

it’ll get done, but ONLY if & when the $uper wealthy creme at the top of the food chain can guarantee their filthy profit !

There are loads of sweet things being developed. I was looking at installing some Deep well geothermal plants down south - when they’ve pulled all the oil out the cavern is still filled with super heated water, which you can use to spin a turbine theoretically for ever… good use of left over holes in the gound. Only problem is they are not in the most accessable places. Tidal turbines could be pretty sweet…. or a nice line of wind turbines off the north cost of Ohio in the lake… where it’s a wind power zone 3 - 4 and not a salt water environment… that would be good too.
