		<description>Fat is an insulator.  Your skin is just on the wrong side of any insulation that may exist to get any benefit.  

Warm blood + muscle &#124; insulation &#124; skin exposed to cold.  

Fat may keep you from dieing of hypothermia, but it won't help with frostbite.  Now if you strapped one of your cats in the right place, that might help.  :-)</description>
